We are recent immigrants to the United States of America from countries all around the world. More of us come from El Salvador than any other country. Honduras, Guatemala, and Ethiopia come in at 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place, but we also have representatives from over 30 other countries like Afghanistan, Argentina, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Central African Republic, Chile, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Ghana, Iraq, Jordan, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Peru, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Swaziland, Uganda, Ukraine, and Venezuela.
We are all learning English, but at home, we speak some 15 other languages. About three-fourths of us speak Spanish at home, while the rest of us speak languages such as Amharic, Arabic, Dari, Farsi, French, Krio, Luganda, Mam, Oromo, Siswati, Twi, Ukranian, Urdu, and Uyghur.
